Urban Sketching

In addition to my digital work, I also like to work analogue. A fine fountain pen, a nice watercolour palette and fine paper.
In my spare time, I go into town, usually with a friend, and we sit down somewhere and draw. Preferably in the sun with a cup of coffee next to it.

We call this urban sketching; drawing on location, capturing a moment, a feeling, what you see at that moment. There is even an international community for Urban Sketchers. They have drawn up a manifesto for everyone who likes to draw their surroundings. In the city, in a village, on holiday or on your doorstep.

“We draw on location, indoors or out, capturing what we see from direct observation. Our drawings tell the story of our surroundings, the places we live and where we travel. We show the world, one drawing at a time.”
